Visit of the Ambassador of Luxembourg to Riga

On 3 March 2015, the Ambassador of Luxembourg to Latvia, Mr Georges Faber met with Ms Lolita Čigāne, Chairperson of the European Affairs Committee of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, to take stock of recent development under the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and to discuss the preparation of the upcoming Luxembourg Presidency (July- December 2015).

Among others, Ms Čigāne and Mr Faber exchanged views on the EMU, TTIP, Eastern Partnership, the investments plan for Europe proposed by President Juncker as well as the plan to create an European Energy Union.

During his trip to Riga, Mr Faber also met with senior officials of the Western, Central and Southern European Countries Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia and with the Honorary Consul of Luxembourg in Riga, Ms Kristiana Libane-Skele.
